| Origin: England in 1820 |
Ripens: Aug |
Zone: 3 - 6 |
| It is a fine quality dessert apple with a very attractive color and appearance. Its rich flavor is best appreciated if eaten straight from the tree. It does not keep well and will turn soft and dry if not eaten soon. The apple is medium sized with conspicuous broad ribs which can create a rather angular appearance. Skin is pale yellow covered with brownish-orange mottling with broad stripes of milky crimson. The creamy white flesh is soft, very aromatic and fairly juicy. |
